Orca Sand & Gravel Project Receives Environmental Assessment Certificate

July 21, 2005

Polaris Minerals Corporation (Polaris) announced today that the British Columbia Environmental Assessment Office has issued an Environmental Assessment Certificate to its subsidiary company, Orca Sand & Gravel Ltd. (OSG). This permit is a key authorization required for the development of the Orca sand and gravel quarry, situated near Port McNeill on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

Mr. Marco Romero, President & CEO, of Polaris, said: "The receipt of the Environmental Assessment Certificate is the culmination of an intensive evaluation, consultation and planning process involving a broad spectrum of Local, Provincial and Federal Government Authorities in the permitting of this 127 million tonne resource of high quality construction aggregate".

He continued: "Together with our First Nation partners, we look forward to developing the project to an operational phase by early 2007 and to commence the marine transportation of up to 6 million tonnes per annum of construction aggregate to Californian markets, where the continuing depletion of local aggregate resources is creating serious shortages of these basic materials vital to the construction industry."

Mr. Romero concluded by saying: "I wish to pay tribute to our many friends on Northern Vancouver Island, to the Regional District of Mount Waddington and to the Town of Port McNeill, all of whom gave us invaluable support for this project. I also wish to acknowledge the BC Ministry of Environment and the BC Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources, whose professionalism, guidance and encouragement has been instrumental in the whole process."

Polaris Minerals Corporation, a privately owned Canadian company headquartered in Vancouver, B.C., together with its First Nation Partners, is developing construction aggregate resources on Vancouver Island, for bulk, marine transportation to major cities situated on the western seaboard of North America.
